ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Radisson’s overall mission, vision values and strategies
  • Participates in the development of the hotel’s business strategies
  • Develops and implements strategies for hotel sales that support achievement of the hotel’s goals
  • Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies as appropriate
  • Develops the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Committee
  • Participates in the development of the annual marketing, sales and yield management plans and strategies
  • Continually improve hotel sales and adheres to Radisson brand standards
  • Develop a working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including food and beverage, guest services, reservations
  • Achieves market share and revenue goals by developing and directing the group and transient sales and marketing strategies
  • Analyzes sales and market statistics to determine profitability of sold business and opportunities within the market
  • Develops sales strategies designed to maximize revenue and yield. Participates in the development of yield management strategies for the hotel
  • Maximizes revenue with revenue optimization tools to market the hotel appropriately and ensure current rate structures are reflected in the database
  • Creates and implements marketing strategies which are designed to increase awareness in the local market, leverages marketing support provided by Radisson Hotel Group and drive occupancy rates
  • Develops and implements public relations and advertising campaigns
  • Ensure all materials used to market the hotel are in accordance with brand standards
  • Maximizes productivity by coaching sales team on sales techniques and ensuring that booked business is aligned with the hotel’s revenue management strategies
  • Qualifies prospective leads as to profitability
  • Designs and proposes programs which meet the clients’ needs
  • Approves function space allocation for group and catering bookings
  • Develops and implements annual sales goals for sales team which are aligned with the hotel’s overall revenue goals and business plan
  • Facilitates training with Front Desk Agents and/or ROM/FOM on sales initiatives and best practices and encourages an “everyone sales” mentality
  • Management of sales team productivity and revenue attainment goals, monitors call productivity and revenue goals by tracking results
  • Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals
  • Review and approve any special corporate negotiated rates with the Revenue Manager
  • Manage and execute RFP Season Annually by facilitating the process in conjunction with the Revenue Manager and GM
  • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented
  • Identify and pursue new and repeat business through prospecting calls, visits, site tours, lunches, and networking events
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (generating proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence
  • Enhances guest experience by providing flexible and innovative solutions during events
  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. Provides employees with the training and resources they need to maximize employee engagement and deliver Yes I Can! service and teamwork
  • Communicates and reinforces the vision for Yes I Can! service to employees
  • Ensures that employees provide Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis

  • Seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience by seeking customer feedback and reviewing management reports and developing strategies to improve department and hotel services

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate team member
  • Assist sales team in typing of contracts and banquet event orders
  • Input rooming lists/monitor group pick up and cut off dates/maintain group resume binder
  • Maintain filing system
  • Be trained in Caterease, PMS, POS Systems
  • Notify sales team of any potential leads
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Prepare marketing flyers as needed
  • Prospecting in down time
  • Maintain banquet event order binder/perform weekly binder audits and weekly meetings
  • Flexible schedule required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five years sales management experience within hotel industry
  • Minimum two years at an upscale brand in past five years in sales and marketing management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience managing to brand standards
  • Experience managing owner relationship
  • Able to resolve conflicts; guests, supervisor and employee
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
  • Ability to travel
  • Knowledge or hotel operations including; preparation of business plans, budget forecasting, hospitality law, and long-range planning
  • General knowledge of contract laws

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional long periods of standing
  • No heavy lifting expected, exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally may be required
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment
